Hold Foe

Cast (Action) (Persistent, Up to 1 Round): You ineffably bind a creature you can see within 12 squares of you. The target is dazed by magic until the end of your next turn. If the target's hit point maximum is less than 60, it is also paralyzed until the dazed condition ends.

Once you have cast Hold Foe, you must finish a long rest before you can cast it again.

Hold Foe is an example of a spell that is easy to "dress up" with a fancy description. The victim might be frozen in time, bound by spectral chains, stupefied by a psychic overload, or halted by divine decree. In any case, be sure to make good use of the time it buys you!
