Tongue of the Sun and Moon

Cast (Action): You use one of the following powers:

  • Bidding (Instantaneous): You speak a one-word command to a creature you can see within 12 squares of you. The target makes a Hard (4+) Will test.* The target succeeds automatically if it can't hear you, or if compliance would be directly harmful to it. If the target fails, it attempts to follow your command on its next turn -- to the best of its ability and understanding -- then its turn ends. If the target succeeds, it is immune to your Bidding for 24 hours. Example commands include the following:

-- Approach: The target moves toward you by the most direct route.

-- Drop: The target drops whatever it is holding.

-- Forget: The target stops concentrating (see Spell Durations).

-- Grovel: The target falls prone.

-- Halt: The target doesn't move and takes no actions.

-- Retreat: The target moves away from you by the most direct route.

-- Speak: The target babbles incoherently.

You can spend 1 spirit point to heighten *the spell when you cast it, imposing disadvantage on this test.

  • Glossolalia (Persistent, Up to 8 Hours): You touch a creature that knows at least one language, and you grant it the ability to understand any spoken language it hears. In addition, when the target speaks, any creature that knows at least one language and that can hear the target can understand what it says.\ Remember that the effects of Bidding only last about six seconds. This limitation is an important check on the power of this power.

For longer-lasting influence over a creature, see Mind Trick.
