You have a nemesis. This individual endeavors to capture or kill you, and they consider your companions to be valid targets as well. You frequently encounter the agents of your nemesis during your adventures. Work with the GM to determine the nature of your nemesis, how you have thwarted your nemesis thus far, and why you haven't as of yet been able to defeat your nemesis.

If multiple heroes have a nemesis, the danger increases proportionally. Two heroes can even share the same (doubly-vexing) nemesis!
